The Organ
The present instrument dates from 1876, when Henry "Father" Willis built a new three manual organ of 32 stops, possibly incorporating parts of a slightly earlier instrument. It was rebuilt in 1955 by the John Compton Organ Company, and again by Mander Organs in 1996/97. Almost all of the Willis pipework survives, and thus we can hear the organ much as it first sounded just over 130 years ago. It is probably one of the finest instruments in Buckinghamshire.
A commemorative brochure giving full details of the organ and its restoration in 1996/97 is available. A brief history of the church building is also included.
Organ Voluntaries are played at each sung service (see the current Music List for details), and regular Organ Concerts are given, including a series of Friday Lunch-time Concerts for the Wycombe Arts Festival in May each year. See "Concerts" for full details.
